About TradutorBraille

TradutorBraille is a free online Braille translator that converts text to Braille and Braille to text directly in your browser. It started as a Portuguese tool and now also serves English, with more languages being added.

Our mission is simple: make Braille easier to approach for everyone — students, teachers, families, and anyone curious about the system. We believe a useful accessibility tool should be free, fast and private.

How it works

The conversion runs entirely in your browser using the universal Braille alphabet. Nothing you type is uploaded to a server, so your text stays on your device. The result is Grade 1 (uncontracted) Braille, which is exact and fully reversible.

What we don’t do

We don’t claim to read Braille from photos with in-browser OCR, and we don’t auto-generate Grade 2 contractions, because unreliable output would be worse than none. Where a task needs specialist tools, we say so and point you to them.
